
Carol Selman is a magazine features/staff writer and a past long-time history and art history secondary school educator. She is also a past public member of the New Jersey Historic Commission, past founding member and officer of the West Orange Arts Council and past West Orange Historic Preservation Commissioner. Currently she writes a column on classic films and is a submission reader for an area theatrical not-for-profit. She has had published 100s of articles about the arts in Essex County and is happy to revive her award winning Arts Beat column for the Four Oranges. She holds a Bachelors in History with Distinction in all Subjects from Cornell University and Masters in both History and American Studies from SUNY Stony Brook. She has lived in one or another of the Oranges most of her life. “I have studied the arts lifelong, but my leading credential is being married to jazz guitarist and composer Bob DeVos.”
